Proxies and Other Models
Models with weargear different to datasheet
When proxing wargear, the model with the proxied wargear must have the following next to the wargear being proxied:
- Warhammer 40k app:
[As: <Modeled Wargear 1>;...<Modeled Wargear N>]
- Battlescribe:
[<Original Wargear> as: <Modeled Wargear>]
This might also apply to 3D printed models, the TO will let you know during the approval process.
Proxied wargear example
- Robert is playing Drukhari and brings a unit of Scourges with 4 Dark lances. Since the box does not contain enough Dark lances
- He models the unit with each of the heavy weapons available:
- 1x Dark lance
- 1x Drukhari haywire blaster
- 1x Heat lance
- 1x Splinter cannon
- Since the Dark Lance is the original wargear on his list, he only needs to mention
- 1x Drukhari haywire blaster
- 1x Heat lance
- 1x Splinter cannon
- When he submits his list he adds the unit as follows:
- Warhammer 40k app
Scourges (110 Points) • (Model and Wargear omitted for this example) • 4x Scourge • 4x Close combat weapon 4x Dark lance [As: Drukhari haywire blaster; Heat lance; Splinter cannon]
Battlescribe

Proxied models
When proxying models with other models that have their own datasheet:
- The original models and proxies must have, roughly, the same dimensions
- The proxy must use the same base size as the original
- Have the following next to the model entry in the list
- Warhammer 40k app: the proxied model must have
[As: <Model 1>;...<Model N>]
next to the model’s name in the datasheet - Battlescribe: the proxied model must have
[<Original model> as: <Model>]
- Warhammer 40k app: the proxied model must have
This might also apply to 3D printed models, the TO will let you know during the approval process.
Proxied model example
- Oscar is also using a unit of
Primaris Infiltrators
, but lost 2 of the models. In order to field the unit he decides to usePrimaris Intercessors
as proxies.- Both have, roughly, the same dimensions
- Have the same base size
- When he submits his list he must add the unit as follows
- Warhammer 40k app
Infiltrator Squad (100 Points) • (Model and Wargear omitted for this example) • 4x Infiltrator [As: 2x Primaris Intercessors] • (Wargear omitted for this example)
Battlescribe
Infiltrator Squad . . 4x Infiltrator: 4x Bolt Pistol, 4x Close Combat Weapon, 4x Marksman Bolt Carbine [Infiltrator as: 2x Primaris Intercessors] . . Infiltrator Sergeant: Bolt Pistol, Close Combat Weapon, Marksman Bolt Carbine

Proxied Units
- If there is not an equivalent piece of wargear between the proxied model and the original, then each proxy must follow the rules in the Models with weargear different to datasheet section
- Each proxy in the squad must follow the rules in the Proxied Models section above
- Try to use as many of the same model as possible
- No other datasheets that use the models being used as proxies may be included in the list
Proxied squad example
- Example 1
- John wants to use a unit of
Deathshroud Terminators
, but they’re not available anywhere. He decides to useBlightlord Terminators
as proxies- Both units have, roughly, the same size
- Proxy models use the same base size as the original models
- John may no longer use
Blightlord Terminator
units in his list - He is proxing the original unit using only
Blightlord Terminator
models - They do not have equivalent wargear
- He adds the following entry to his submitted list:
- Warhammer 40k App
Deathshroud Terminators (110 Points) • 1x Deathshroud Champion [As: Blightlord Terminator Champion] ◦ 1x Manreaper [As: Flail of Corruption] ◦ 1x Plaguespurt gauntlet • 2x Deathshroud Terminator [As: 2x Blightlord Terminators] ◦ 2x Manreaper [As: 2x Bubotic Axe] ◦ 2x Plaguespurt gauntlet [As: 2x Combi-weapon]
Battlescribe
Deathshroud Terminators . . 2x Deathshroud Terminator: 2x Manreaper, 2x Plaguespurt gauntlet [Deathshourd Terminator as: 2x Blightlord Terminators] [Manreaper as: 2x Bubotic Axe] [Plaguespurt gauntlet as: 2x Combi-weapon] . . Deathshroud Terminator Champion: Manreaper, Plaguespurt gauntlet [Deathshroud Terminator Champion as: Blightlord Terminator Champion] [Manreaper as: Flail of Corruption]
- Warhammer 40k App

- Example 2
- Oscar is playing Space Marines and wants to include two Repulsor Executioners, but he only has one; so he decides to use a regular
Repulsor
to proxy theRepulsor Executioner
- The only difference between the two models is a turret (both have the same dimensions and base sizes)
- The
Repulsor
has its own datasheet- Oscar may no longer use any units using the
Repulsor
datasheet in his list
- Oscar may no longer use any units using the
- He adds the
Repulsor Executioner
datasheet to his submitted list as follows- Warhammer 40k app
Repulsor Executioner (220 Points) [As: Repulsor] • (Wargear omitted for this example)
Battlescribe

3D Printed models and older versions
3D printed, and older versions, of models are not subject to the rules above by default, as they should be sufficiently distinct to cause confusion during the game. However, during the approval process, the TO might determine that these guidelines apply and will let you know how to add the unit to the list.
Instead, the following rule apply to them:
3D printed models
Players may have no more than 20% of the point limit as 3d printed models.
Game Size | Point Limit | Maximum points in 3D models |
---|---|---|
Incursion | 1000 | 200 |
Strike Force | 2000 | 400 |
Onslaught | 3000 | 600 |
Failure to report these models during the list submission and approval process will subject the player to the penalties detailed in the illegal model offense.
Older versions
The only requirement is that they are on the same base size as the newer versions.
In order to avoid damaging model when doing a base swap, player may put the model and base on top of a base of the correct size. Players that opt to do this will not have the model be counted as an illegal model offense as long as the player reports this during the list submission and approval process.
